Our guides are not your typical fishing "bums" working the local rivers until it's time to move along to Alaska or the Bahamas. Our guides are hard working, fun loving, local outdoorsmen that have a passion for flyfishing here in western NC and eastern TN. When booking with On The Fly Guide Service, you'll fish a local stream that our guides fish when they are not guiding. A trip with OTFGS will always be a pleasant day on the water with a knowledgeable, friendly, local guide that we hope you will consider a friend from that day forward. Being
raised here in McDowell County, Chad has spent his entire life
in the hills of western NC. From deer hunting to trout fishing
Chad spent his childhood tromping through the local mountains along
side his father. Early in life he was taught how to be an all
around sportsman, with this came respect for the local resources.
Of course being a proud Boy Scout also helped develop his respect for
nature and good character. Lead Guide / Big Fish Junkie Chad's passion for big fish has lead him to develop techniques to bring the bigger than average fish to the boat. Scott wasn't born here
but since moving here at age 15 he has covered many many miles
throughout western NC and eastern TN. Being the son of an fishing
guide, you could safely say fishing is in Scott's blood. While
spending his childhood fishing with his dad, Scott developed that "6th
sense" that allows him to figure out how to find active fish.
His passion and respect for the local fisheries is very evident to
everyone who has spent time on the water with him. OTFGS Owner / Sight Fishing Fanatic Scott's knowledge of fish habitat and feeding patterns allows him to find great fishing throughout the year. A day spent with Scott will allow you a chance to see first hand just how great the sight fishing in this area can be. Jeremy McClellan Wade Fishing Bum / Quality Fish Purest Jeremy was also raised here in McDowell County. He spent his childhood fishing with his dad and has figured out how to catch fish anywhere he's ever fished. From carp fishing to high mountain trout fishing, Jeremy truely is in his "element" when fishing. Jeremy's passion for fishing is beyond an addiction, it's his way of life. Jeremy Duvall Float Fishing Guide / Quality Fish Purest Jeremy is a native to western NC, growing up in Fairview, he now calls McDowell County home. He has spent most of his adult life trying to find that little gem of a trout stream where the fish are big and lies are not needed.
