As a partnership between two High School best friends Chad Stevens and Scott Cunningham have had the honor to flyfish throughout this great state.  From climbing boulder to boulder chasing southern Appalachian brook trout to stalking shallow water redfish at the coast, Chad and Scott have spent countless hours throughout NC On The Fly.

Based in Marion, less than 2 hours from Charlotte NC, Knoxville TN and Greenville SC, the plethora of flyfishing options in this area abound.  With over 50 years of combined guiding knowledge of this area, these not so young men can put you on that fish of a lifetime.

Raised here in McDowell County, Chad has spent his entire life in the hills of western NC.  From deer hunting to trout fishing Chad spent his childhood tromping through the local mountains along side his father.  Early in life he was taught how to be an all around sportsman, with this came respect for the local resources.  Of course being a proud Boy Scout also helped.
Chad’s passion for big fish has lead him to develop techniques to bring the bigger than average fish to the net.  Spending a day with Chad will help you realize what it takes to boat those big fish that leave you with lasting memories.

Scott wasn’t born here but since moving here at age 15 he has covered many many miles throughout western NC and eastern TN.  Being the son of an fishing guide, you could safely say fishing is in Scott’s blood.  His passion and respect for the local fisheries is very evident to everyone who has spent time on the water with him.
Scott’s knowledge of fish habitat and feeding patterns allows him to find great fishing throughout the year.  A day spent with Scott will allow you a chance to see first hand just how great the sight fishing in this area can be.
